Today, through business process outsourcing (BPO) with the support of the latest technology of logistic systems, GAPIMA is fast becoming a leading 4th Party Logistics (4PL) company, delivering quality services through its shared supply chain platform.

New Journey
On 8th Sept 2010, Baine Consulting Services Sdn. Bhd. had bought over GAPIMA from UEM Group Bhd. That time, the new management had focus on re-structuring and streamline the company to make it well known and respected in the logistics industry in Malaysia.

Joining Group
GAPIMA was bought over by the UEM Group Bhd. in 2005. Apart from its on-going business, GAPIMA also handled the group’s logistics requirements which include supply of coal and dredging works for the expansion of the Penang Bridge.

MTO Appointment
In 1996, GAPIMA Sdn. Bhd. was appointed officially as the Government Freight Forwarders or Multimodal Transport Operator (MTO). With the MTO license, GAPIMA started to venture in the shipping agencies activities. At that time, GAPIMA was also a holder of the Petronas license for freight forwarding, transportation and marine operations. This was when, GAPIMA had venture into the Oil and Gas industry.

Establishment
Established by a group of businessmen from the Dewan Perniagaan Melayu Pulau Pinang back in 1974 and started off in the forwarding and stevedoring services. Recognized its potential, Konsortium Perkapalan Bhd. had bought over the company a few years later.
